Veracode adds Android testing capability to platform

Veracode has added capability to its cloud-based application security testing platform for Android mobile apps.
According to the company, the new application security testing platform will include a focus on ease of use and improve customers' ability to quickly assess potential vulnerabilities.
It said primary updates include a redesigned platform administration interface and data export capabilities to provide customers with better access to information and intelligence about their application security program.
Veracode has also added new flaw categories for Android applications, support for the Apache Xerces J2EE framework and improvements in results quality and API-based results access.
Tim Jarrett, director of product management at Veracode, said: “Veracode takes advantage of being an SaaS-based service provider to update our platform frequently with the goal of quickly driving actionable results for our customers, and making it as easy as possible to maximise the benefits of every aspect of the service, from requesting scans and viewing results to setting policy and running an application security program. For Veracode and our customers, ease of use isn't just nice to have, it's mission-critical.”
